Food Flavored Song of the Day: (At Least Those) Kids Are Getting Fed by China Rats

My breakfast mantra is “you are eating for breakfast, what I eat for dessert.” Never does this ring more true than weekday mornings when kids come into my classroom eating things like french toast sticks with high fructose imitation syrup or sugary cereal or cinnamon buns or pop tarts. Is it any wonder that they come across as tired and lethargic just halfway through the day? Or that some kids can’t focus because they bounce around so much?
I guess we do have to be thankful, especially those that eat breakfast at school, that they are able to get fed. I know a lot of kids that went without when I was growing up. I think The China Rats share these sentiments when they sing “(At Least Those) Kids are Getting Fed”:
