Beta Vulgaris Interjaculation Hugged by The Hussy and Regurgitator
Beta Vulgaris Interjaculation is just a sexy way to say Beet (Sandwich). The beets, while lovely in their own right, were gussied up by an apple, baguette and boiled peanut hummus. The result was a (sandwich) with the sex appeal of a bald, slightly overweight, twenty something hipster. While I feared the rawness of the beets and apples were a little too much, J-Fur set my mind at ease by suggesting the crunch was way beyond anything that has ever produced a six pack of abs.
Beet and Apple (Sandwich)

-1 medium beet, peeled and sliced
-1 granny smith apple, thinly sliced
-1 baguette
-4 Tbs. boiled peanut hummus
1. Slice the baguette lengthwise. Smother both sides in boiled peanut hummus.
2. Line the bottom of the baguette with granny smith apples.
3. Pile the beets on top. Chew vigorously.
A meal like this requires something simple, yet elegant. ”Sexi Ladi” from The Hussy fits this mold. Its lo-fi thrash output of plucked guitar twang and bedazzled feedback sounds like something any kid could do in their basement. The elegance come through the lyrics which revolve around holding hands on a date with a “sexi ladi,” a term I would use only to describe someone much older and amazingly stunning. Like my fifth grade teacher. She…was elegance.
Australia’s Regurgitator, authors of the Superhappyfuntimes album released in August that you may have come across in your world travels, had me at an “upbeat ode to insignificance.” That is the description for their first single “One Day” and boy does that give it justice. It sounds like sayings or lyrics that were patched together from various sources in hopes of questioning our existence. As Scout proved, and Regurgitator echoes, put your lyrics together in the right way and back them with the right music and you’ve got yourself a two minute ball of fun.
